It’s nearly final reporting time for all GBMCA state government grants to community groups. Mel Haddow from Goulburn Broken CMA  caught up with Janet and Cathy at the Euroa Arboretum to check on the progress of our  CMN Support/Wetlands Revegetation/Community Education Grant.  It was a great opportunity to actually show Mel what we have been up to rather than try to  capture all the things we do on a single report sheet.

  •  The Dig Day Out Field Day, Fish -In Day  and Wetland Planting Days – Plus the development of the  new shallow end of the big dam .
  • Revegetation of 4ha wetlands – Cath , Bert & Janet
  • Schools Program with Avenel Primary , Highlands Primary & Euroa Secondary schools. Regularly visiting 52 children and involving them in environmental programs – Cath.
  • Development and maintenance of Web site  and Nature Blog – Bert & Janet .
  • Visits to most landcare and environment group meetings within the CMN area. (12 groups)
  • Displays and presentations at  field days, shows and forums. Geology Day, Trees & Climate Change talk, Box Grassy Woodlands Day,Wildflower Walks, Biodiversity Month Events. Strathbogie Shire Environmental Celebration.
  • Development of networks outside the catchment – SWAG, Central Victorian Biolink, Sustainable Landscapes Forum , Australasian Bat Forum, Nature Bloggers. Commissioner of Sustainability, Floodplain Ecology Course.Victorian Landcare Forum.
  • Maintaining networks within the catchment – LaBif, Landcare Coordinators,Backbone to Biodiversity and other CMN’s, Trust for Nature.
  • Writing funding submissions – Communities for Nature, Community Action Grants,GBCMA  EOI’s 2012/2013, Caring for Country Open Grants, Biodiversity Fund, Healthy Parks-Healthy People.
  • Supporting landholders interested in natural heritage conservation on private land.
  • Consulting with public land managers- Parksvic, DSE – Audit of Public Land.
  • Development of a relationship with the Tuangunong Clan.
  • Production of information brochures and posters.
  • Reporting to monthly  executive  and sub committee meetings.
  • And sundries too numerous to mention.
